On 12 December 2011 the Embassy of the Republic of Macedonia in The Hague, in cooperation with Holland Gateway and the Director of the Macedonian Agency for Promotion and Support for Tourism, Mr. Jordan Trajkov, organized en event in the World Trade Centre at the Schiphol Airport, in order to further promote the tourist capacities of Macedonia and Macedonian wines. Mr. Trajkov also presented the wine routes as well as the favorable opportunities for construction of wine cellars in Macedonia.
The event was attended by around thirty representatives of Dutch tour operators, who already offer Macedonia as a tourist destination or have an interest to put it into their offers in the future. During the cocktail the attendees had a chance to try Macedonian delicacies and wines.
On that occasion Mr. Trajkov have said: “The Netherlands is one of our main target markets. Until 2010 the market with the Netherlands was mainly sustained by the enthusiasm and the investments in charter transport of Karatanova tours. Starting from 2010, after the release of the program for subventions other tour operators were attracted and this year we already have two companies that have established charter flights to Macedonia. One of them established charter flights from Belgium as well. I would like to underline that we have managed to provoke the interest for the winter tourism in Macedonia as well, which could be a mayor breakthrough. In general, the Dutch market is developing smoothly, and this development will be supported by the Agency in the future with further promotional activities. Today we had a successful promotion that is part of our support to this market.” |
