Visa Center

The documents required for obtaining a Macedonian visa are as follows:


I. For visa types A, B and C:





1. Application for visa;

2. valid and recognized travel document with a validity period of at least 3 months longer than the intended stay of the foreigner in the Republic of Macedonia;

3. color photograph on a white background which genuinely presents the applicant’s appearance ( 3,5 x 4,5 cm);

4. proof that the foreigner has previously paid the fee for the examination of the visa application;

5. documents for (individual or group) travel insurance (policy issued by an insurance company in the country of residence);

6. documents providing for the goal and circumstances of the intended stay in the Republic of Macedonia (the letter of guarantee from a natural person, i.e. the invitation from a legal entity must be verified by a notary public);

7. documents proving that the applicant possesses sufficient means of subsistence for the period of stay in the Republic of Macedonia and for the return to the country of arrival or for travel to a third country, or documents proving that the applicant is able to obtain such means in a legal manner (possesses ready financial resources in a domestic or foreign convertible currency, possesses a valid means of non-cash payment (credit cards, traveler’s checks etc), possesses real property and other means).

The documents required for obtaining a Macedonian visa are as follows:

II. A. D Visa/ temporary residence for EMPLOYMENT , WORK AND SELF-EMPLOYMENT



1. Personal work permit



­ Application for visa;

­ completed Form RD 1/3;

­ proof of registration at the Central Registry of the Republic of Macedonia as a legal entity;

­ business plan;

­ current situation of the company (not older than six months);

­ completed Application for issuing/extending a permit for temporary residence in the Republic of Macedonia ( Form 2, MоI);

- proof of health insurance (and mandatory translation of the original copy into

the Macedonian language by a court-appointed translator);

­ certificate that the applicant has not been convicted issued by the relevant authorities of the country of residence of the foreigner (and mandatory translation of the original copy into the Macedonian language by a court-appointed translator);

­ proof that there are no pending criminal proceedings against the foreigner in the country whose national he/she is or in the country of residence from which he/she submits the stay permit application ;

- valid and recognized travel document with a validity period of at least 3 months longer than the intended stay of the foreigner in the Republic of Macedonia;

- color photograph (3,5 x 4,5 cm);

2. Work permit



A. Cross-border provision of services



- Application for visa;

­ completed Form RD 3/1;

­ contract for provision of services;

­ working schedule;

­ proof of valid registration of the contracting parties;

­ statement of the applicant (the foreign company) that no punitive measures have been taken against the company;

­ list of posted employees;

­ proof that the seconded employees have been employed by the legal entity for at least one year and are social insured;

­ completed Application for issuing/extending a permit for temporary residence in the Republic of Macedonia ( Form 2, MOI);

- proof of health insurance (and mandatory translation of the original copy into the Macedonian language by a court-appointed translator);

- certificate that the applicant has not been convicted, issued by the relevant authorities of the country of residence of the foreigner (and mandatory translation of the original copy into the Macedonian language by a court-appointed translator);

- proof that there are no pending criminal proceedings against the foreigner in the country whose national he/she is or in the country of residence from which he/she submits the stay permit application ;

­ valid and recognized travel document with a validity period of at least 3 months longer than the intended stay of the foreigner in the Republic of Macedonia;

- color photograph on a white background which genuinely presents the applicant’s appearance ( 3,5 x 4,5 cm);

B. Workers posted to re- training in Macedonian companies

­ Application for visa;

­ completed Form RD 3/2;

­ proof of capital stock;

­ re-training contract ;

­ list of posted employees;

­ proof that the seconded employees have been employed by the legal entity for at least one year and are social insured;

­ completed Application for issuing/extending a permit for temporary residence in the Republic of Macedonia ( Form 2, MoI);

- proof of health insurance (and mandatory translation of the original copy into the Macedonian language by a court-appointed translator);

­ certificate that the applicant has not been convicted issued by the relevant authorities of the country of residence of the foreigner (and mandatory translation of the original copy into the Macedonian language by a court-appointed translator);

­ proof that there are no pending criminal proceedings against the foreigner in the country whose national he/she is or in the country of residence from which he/she submits the stay permit application ;

­ valid and recognized travel document with a validity period of at least 3 months longer than the intended stay of the foreigner in the Republic of Macedonia;

- color photograph on a white background which genuinely presents the applicant’s appearance ( 3,5 x 4,5 cm);

B1. Posted foreign employees conducting re-training



­ Application for visa;

­ completed Form RD 3/3;

­ proof of capital stock;

­ contract and program for re- training;

­ list of posted foreign employees;

­ proof that the seconded employees have been employed by the legal entity for at least one year and are social insured;

­ completed Application for issuing/extending a permit for temporary residence in the Republic of Macedonia ( Form 2, MоI);

- proof of health insurance (and mandatory translation of the original copy into the Macedonian language by a court-appointed translator);

­ certificate that the applicant has not been convicted issued by the relevant authorities of the country of residence of the foreigner (and mandatory translation of the original copy into the Macedonian language by a court-appointed translator);

- proof that there are no pending criminal proceedings against the foreigner in the country whose national he/she is or in the country of residence from which he/she submits the stay permit application ;

­ valid and recognized travel document with a validity period of at least 3 months longer than the intended stay of the foreigner in the Republic of Macedonia;

C. Services from posted employees





­ application for visa;

­ completed Form RD 3/4;

­ contract for provision of services;

­ proof of registration of the foreign legal entity;

­ proof of registration/admission of the company or branch office (issued by the Central Registry of the Republic of Macedonia);

­ proof that the seconded employees have been employed by the legal entity for at least one year and are social insured;

− statement of the applicant that within the last three years pending the application for work permit, the foreign employer has not been imposed infringement penalty

- list of posted employees;

­ completed Application for issuing/extending a permit for temporary residence in the Republic of Macedonia ( Form 2, MOI);

- proof of health insurance (and mandatory translation of the original copy into the Macedonian language by a court-appointed translator);

­ certificate that the applicant has not been convicted issued by the relevant authorities of the country of residence of the foreigner (and mandatory translation of the original copy into the Macedonian language by a court-appointed translator);

­ proof that there are no pending criminal proceedings against the foreigner in the country whose national he/she is or in the country of residence from which he/she submits the stay permit application ;

­ valid and recognized travel document with a validity period of at least 3 months longer than the intended stay of the foreigner in the Republic of Macedonia;

­ color photograph on a white background which genuinely presents the applicant’s appearance ( 3,5 x 4,5 cm);;

The documents required for obtaining a Macedonian visa are as follows:









D. Posting persons within associations of the company



­ Application for visa;

­ completed Form RD 3/5;

­ proof of registration of the foreign legal entity (translation of the original copy into the Macedonian language)

­ proof of registration/admission of the trade company or branch office (issued by the Central Registry of the Republic of Macedonia);

­ proof that the seconded employees have been employed by the legal entity for at least one year and are social insured;

­ document on the designation of the employee from his permanent job location abroad to a branch office or other organizational unit in the Republic of Macedonia;

­ proof of fulfillment of the criteria set out in Article 20 paragraph 2;

- statement of the applicant that within the last three years pending the application for work permit, the foreign employer has not been imposed infringement penalty;

­ completed Application for issuing/extending a permit for temporary residence in the Republic of Macedonia ( Form 2, MoI);

- proof of health insurance (and mandatory translation of the original copy into the Macedonian language by a court-appointed translator);

­ certificate that the applicant has not been convicted issued by the relevant authorities of the country of residence of the foreigner (and mandatory translation of the original copy into the Macedonian language by a court-appointed translator);

­ proof that there are no pending criminal proceedings against the foreigner in the country whose national he/she is or in the country of residence from which he/she submits the stay permit application ;valid and recognized travel document with a validity period of at least 3 months longer than the intended stay of the foreigner in the Republic of Macedonia;

­ color photograph on a white background which genuinely presents the applicant’s appearance ( 3,5 x 4,5 cm);

E. Training and advanced training



­ Application for visa;

­ completed Form RD 3/6;

­ proof of public authorization for performance of that type of activity;

­ proof of registration of the organization;

­ employment contract (in cases when the foreigner has established labor relation with the employer);

­ advanced training programme;

­ Education certificate of the foreigner;

- opinion from the competent institution of the Republic of Macedonia for grounding of the training ;

­ completed Application for issuing/extending a permit for temporary residence in the Republic of Macedonia ( Form 2, MoI);

- proof of health insurance (and mandatory translation of the original copy into the Macedonian language by a court-appointed translator);

­ certificate that the applicant has not been convicted issued by the relevant authorities of the country of residence of the foreigner (and mandatory translation of the original copy into the Macedonian language by a court-appointed translator);

­ proof that there are no pending criminal proceedings against the foreigner in the country whose national he/she is or in the country of residence from which he/she submits the stay permit application ;valid and recognized travel document with a validity period of at least 3 months longer than the intended stay of the foreigner in the Republic of Macedonia;

F. Seasonal work for foreigners



­ Application for visa;

­ completed Form RD 3/7;

­ proof of registration/admission of the trade company or branch offices (issued by the Central Registry of the Republic of Macedonia);

­ explanation of the need for seasonal work of a foreigner;

­ statement of the applicant that within the last three years pending the application for work permit, the foreign employer has not been imposed infringement penalty

­ information about the economic-financial situation of the entity (issued by the Central Registry of the Republic of Macedonia);

­ signed employment contract;

­ proof of appropriate/requested education/ credentials of the foreigner;

­ certificate for Macedonian language skills/knowledge

­ completed Application for issuing/extending a permit for temporary residence in the Republic of Macedonia ( Form 2, MoI);

- proof of health insurance (and mandatory translation of the original copy into the Macedonian language by a court-appointed translator);

­ certificate that the applicant has not been convicted, issued by the relevant authorities of the country of residence of the foreigner (and mandatory translation of the original copy into the Macedonian language by a court-appointed translator);

­ proof that there are no pending criminal proceedings against the foreigner in the country whose national he/she is or in the country of residence from which he/she submits the stay permit application ;valid and recognized travel document with a validity period of at least 3 months longer than the intended stay of the foreigner in the Republic of Macedonia;

G. Foreign representatives of companies

­ Application for visa;

­ completed Form RD 3/8;

­ proof of registration/admission of the trade company or branch offices (issued by the Central Registry of the Republic of Macedonia);

­ signed contract (between the foreigner and the company;

­ proof of the number of employees at the company/branch office

­ completed Application for issuing/extending a permit for temporary residence in the Republic of Macedonia ( Form 2, MoI);

- proof of health insurance (and mandatory translation of the original copy into the Macedonian language by a court-appointed translator);

­ certificate that the applicant has not been convicted, issued by the relevant authorities of the country of residence of the foreigner (and mandatory translation of the original copy into the Macedonian language by a court-appointed translator);

­ proof that there are no pending criminal proceedings against the foreigner in the country whose national he/she is or in the country of residence from which he/she submits the stay permit application ;valid and recognized travel document with a validity period of at least 3 months longer than the intended stay of the foreigner in the Republic of Macedonia;

H. Individual services from foreigners



­ Application for visa;

­ completed Form RD 3/9;

­ proof of registration/admission of the trade company or branch offices (issued by the Central Registry of the Republic of Macedonia);

­ employment contract with the foreigner;

­ proof of specific education/ special skills that is lacking in the domestic labor market;

­ statement of the applicant that within the last three years pending the application for work permit, the foreign employer has not been imposed infringement penalty

­ completed Application for issuing/extending a permit for temporary residence in the Republic of Macedonia ( Form 2, MoI);

- proof of health insurance (and mandatory translation of the original copy into the Macedonian language by a court-appointed translator);

­ certificate that the applicant has not been convicted, issued by the relevant authorities of the country of residence of the foreigner (and mandatory translation of the original copy into the Macedonian language by a court-appointed translator);

­ proof that there are no pending criminal proceedings against the foreigner in the country whose national he/she is or in the country of residence from which he/she submits the stay permit application ;valid and recognized travel document with a validity period of at least 3 months longer than the intended stay of the foreigner in the Republic of Macedonia;

­ color photograph on a white background which genuinely presents the applicant’s appearance ( 3,5 x 4,5 cm);

3. Employment permit



­ Application for visa;

­ completed Form RD 2/1;

­ proof of registration/admission of the trade company or branch offices (issued by the Central Registry of the Republic of Macedonia);

­ written notification of the local office of the Employment Agency (not older than 30 days by the date of its submission);

­ explanation of the needs for employing a foreigner;

­ statement of the applicant ( in line with the criteria specified within the Rd 2/1 form, point 1A/ D)

­ information about the economic-financial situation of the entity;

­ certificate from the Public Revenue Office for paid taxes;

­ signed employment contract (between the employer and the applicant);

­ verified application for the need for an employee;

­ proof of appropriate education or professional competence (and mandatory translation of the original copy into the Macedonian language by a court-appointed translator);

­ document issued by the competent body of the Republic of Macedonia about the fulfillment of the special conditions envisaged by law;

­ proof of language skills (certificate for competence in Macedonian language)

­ completed Application for issuing/extending a permit for temporary residence in the Republic of Macedonia ( Form 2, MoI);

- proof of health insurance (and mandatory translation of the original copy into the Macedonian language by a court-appointed translator);

­ certificate that the applicant has not been convicted issued by the relevant authorities of the country of residence of the foreigner (and mandatory translation of the original copy into the Macedonian language by a court-appointed translator);

­ proof that there are no pending criminal proceedings against the foreigner in the country whose national he/she is or in the country of residence from which he/she submits the stay permit application ;valid and recognized travel document with a validity period of at least 3 months longer than the intended stay of the foreigner in the Republic of Macedonia;

The documents required for obtaining a Macedonian visa are as follows:


II. B D visa / temporary residence for other purposes



1. For purpose of attending school or studies



- Application for visa;

- receipt from an educational institution from the Republic of Macedonia certifying that the foreigner is a high school or regular university student ;

- a curriculum of the envisaged education in the Republic of Macedonia issued by the relevant educational institution in the Republic of Macedonia (stating the duration of school or studies as well as the conditions for enrolment for each successive school or university tear);

- Proof of language skills or of enrolment in a course of the language used in the curriculum of the relevant educational institution in the Republic of Macedonia;

- proof that the applicant possesses subsistence means;

- proof that the applicant has accommodation ensured or has means for accommodation;

- completed Application for issuing/extending a permit for temporary residence in the Republic of Macedonia ( Form 2, MoI);

- proof of health insurance (and mandatory translation of the original copy I nto the Macedonian language by a court-appointed translator);

- certificate that the applicant has not been convicted issued by the relevant authorities of the country of residence of the foreigner (and mandatory translation of the original copy into the Macedonian language by a court-appointed translator);

- proof that there are no pending criminal proceedings against the foreigner in the country whose national he/she is or in the country of residence from which he/she submits the stay permit application ;valid and recognized travel document with a validity period of at least 3 months longer than the intended stay of the foreigner in the Republic of Macedonia;

The documents required for obtaining a Macedonian visa are as follows:





For purpose of participation in international student/pupil exchange schemes



- Application for visa;

- proof that the applicant possesses subsistence means;

- proof that the applicant has accommodation ensured or has means for accommodation;

- proof that the applicant is between 16 and 26 years of age;

- certificate issued by a state body (responsible for implementation of ratified international agreements on international exchange of students/pupils which confirms the acceptance of the foreigner in such an international exchange);

- completed Application for issuing/extending a permit for temporary residence in the Republic of Macedonia ( Form 2, MoI);

- proof of health insurance (and mandatory translation of the original copy into the Macedonian language by a court-appointed translator);

- certificate that the applicant has not been convicted issued by the relevant authorities of the country of residence of the foreigner (and mandatory translation of the original copy into the Macedonian language by a court-appointed translator);

- proof that there are no pending criminal proceedings against the foreigner in the country whose national he/she is or in the country of residence from which he/she submits the stay permit application ;valid and recognized travel document with a validity period of at least 3 months longer than the intended stay of the foreigner in the Republic of Macedonia;

The documents required for obtaining a Macedonian visa are as follows:





For purpose of specialization, vocational education or practical training



- Application for visa;

- proof that the applicant possesses subsistence means;

- proof that the applicant has accommodation ensured or has means for accommodation;

- certificate from a competent body or legal entity;

- program determining the duration of the specialization, vocational education or practical training;

- program indicating the period of the specialization, vocational education or practical training;

- completed Application for issuing/extending a permit for temporary residence in the Republic of Macedonia ( Form 2, MoI);

- proof of health insurance (and mandatory translation of the original copy into the Macedonian language by a court-appointed translator);

- certificate that the applicant has not been convicted issued by the relevant authorities of the country of residence of the foreigner (and mandatory translation of the original copy into the Macedonian language by a court-appointed translator);

- proof that there are no pending criminal proceedings against the foreigner in the country whose national he/she is or in the country of residence from which he/she submits the stay permit application ;valid and recognized travel document with a validity period of at least 3 months longer than the intended stay of the foreigner in the Republic of Macedonia;

- color photograph on a white background which genuinely presents the applicant’s appearance ( 3,5 x 4,5 cm);

The documents required for obtaining a Macedonian visa are as follows:





For purpose of scientific research



- Application for visa;

- proof that the applicant possesses subsistence means;

- proof that the applicant has accommodation ensured or has means for accommodation;

- signed contract on scientific research concluded with a scientific institution which is entered in the registry of scientific institutions in the Republic of Macedonia

- an evidence on funding of a research project;

- a certified copy of the degree of his/her education (bachelor or master degree and other);

- a prior consent issued by the competent institution (Ministry for science and education);

- completed Application for issuing/extending a permit for temporary residence in the Republic of Macedonia ( Form 2, MoI);

- proof of health insurance (and mandatory translation of the original copy into the Macedonian language by a court-appointed translator);

- certificate that the applicant has not been convicted issued by the relevant authorities of the country of residence of the foreigner (and mandatory translation of the original copy into the Macedonian language by a court-appointed translator);

- proof that there are no pending criminal proceedings against the foreigner in the country whose national he/she is or in the country of residence from which he/she submits the stay permit application ;valid and recognized travel document with a validity period of at least 3 months longer than the intended stay of the foreigner in the Republic of Macedonia;

- color photograph on a white background which genuinely presents the applicant’s appearance ( 3,5 x 4,5 cm);

The documents required for obtaining a Macedonian visa are as follows:





For purpose of medical treatment



- Application for visa;

- an evidence proving that the funds for a treatment are to be borne either by the foreigner him/herself or his/her country of origin.

- a receipt issued by a health institution of the Republic of Macedonia:

a. stating the period of such a treatment as well as possible post-medical treatment, and

b. confirming that reception of the foreigner concerned for medical treatment shall be of no harm to the patients who are citizens of the Republic of Macedonia;

- completed Application for issuing/extending a permit for temporary residence in the Republic of Macedonia ( Form 2, MoI);

- proof of health insurance (and mandatory translation of the original copy into the Macedonian language by a court-appointed translator);

- certificate that the applicant has not been convicted issued by the relevant authorities of the country of residence of the foreigner (and mandatory translation of the original copy into the Macedonian language by a court-appointed translator);

- proof that there are no pending criminal proceedings against the foreigner in the country whose national he/she is or in the country of residence from which he/she submits the stay permit application ;valid and recognized travel document with a validity period of at least 3 months longer than the intended stay of the foreigner in the Republic of Macedonia;

- color photograph on a white background which genuinely presents the applicant’s appearance ( 3,5 x 4,5 cm);

For purpose of family reunification



- Application for visa;

- proof that the applicant possesses subsistence means;

- proof that the applicant has accommodation ensured or has means for accommodation;

- certificate from the MoI (from the person who has been granted residence);

- proof of family relationships;

- completed Application for issuing/extending a permit for temporary residence in the Republic of Macedonia ( Form 2, MoI);

- proof of health insurance, personal for the ménage (and mandatory translation of the original copy into the Macedonian language by a court-appointed translator);

- certificate that the applicant has not been convicted, issued by the relevant authorities of the country of residence of the foreigner (and mandatory translation of the original copy into the Macedonian language by a court-appointed translator);

- proof that there are no pending criminal proceedings against the foreigner in the country whose national he/she is or in the country of residence from which he/she submits the stay permit application ;valid and recognized travel document with a validity period of at least 3 months longer than the intended stay of the foreigner in the Republic of Macedonia;

- color photograph on a white background which genuinely presents the applicant’s appearance ( 3,5 x 4,5 cm);

For purpose of voluntarism



- Application for visa;

- proof that the applicant possesses subsistence means;

- proof that the applicant has accommodation ensured or has means for accommodation;

- voluntarism contract (concluded between the applicant and the organizer of voluntarisms in the Republic of Macedonia);

- program for volunteering;

- consent from the Ministry of Labor and Social Policy (MLSP);

- completed Application for issuing/extending a permit for temporary residence in the Republic of Macedonia ( Form 2, MoI);

- proof of health insurance, personal for the ménage (and mandatory translation of the original copy into the Macedonian language by a court-appointed translator);

- certificate that the applicant has not been convicted issued by the relevant authorities of the country of residence of the foreigner (and mandatory translation of the original copy into the Macedonian language by a court-appointed translator);

- proof that there are no pending criminal proceedings against the foreigner in the country whose national he/she is or in the country of residence from which he/she submits the stay permit application ;
