Diplomatic relations between Republic of Macedonia and AR Egypt are established in 1994. Both countries were represented by their missions in Rome, Italy until the establishing the Macedonian embassy in Cairo.
Republic of Macedonia opened it’s embassy in Cairo on the 1st of March 2001, while AR Egypt is represented by the embassy in Sofia.
The embassy of the Republic of Macedonia at its beginning was located at Zamalek, Cairo until 2005 when it was transferred to the eastern part of Maadi, known as Degla Maadi where its located to this day.
Maadi lays on the river Nile about 12 km upstream from downtown Cairo on the east bank. It’s known by its greenery, beautiful protected architecture and broad boulevards. Maadi is known by it’s many archeological sites, foregn schools and the American and French college and many embassies located there.

Egyptian railways passes through Maadi as well as the Cairo Metro line No. 1.

The embassy is opened for the Macedonian citizens who live in Cairo and Egypt as well as the Egyptian citizens, representing a bridge of mutual respect and cooperation between the two friendly countries
