The Honorary Consulate of Republic Macedonia in Ploiesti was solemny open on 12th of November 2009, standing as a first Macedonian institution of the kind in Romania. The opening ceremony took place at the headquarters of the Chambre of Industry and Commerce of Prahova, In Ploiesti, where the premises of the HC are located. The Consulate was pronounced officially open with the opening speech of Mr. Zoran Petrov- Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Republic of Macedonia, followed by the ceremonial speeches of Mr. Aurelian Gogulescu, the first Honorary Consul of Republic of Macedonia in Romania, as well as H.E. Mr.Ljupco Arsovski, the Ambassador, Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, of Republic of Macedonia to Romania, Mr. Robert Marius Cazanciuc- Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Romania and Mr. Adrian Florin Dobre - Prefect of the Prahova County.
Plenty remarkable persons, representatives of the Romanian diplomatic, business and public circles in general, participated in the ceremony, such as Ms. Liana Dumitrescu - Member of the Romanian Parliament, legislation representative of the Macedonian minority and representatives of the Macedonian community in Romania, employees of the Embassy of Republic of Macedonia in Bucharest, journalists, business officials etc.
The speakers emphasized the positive bilateral relations between the two countries and the traditional Macedonian presence on the Romanian territories throughout the history, serving as a fruitful ground for future improvement of the economic cooperation. Mr. Aurelian Gogulescu is long-term President of the Chamber of Industry and Commerce of Prahova, former Vice-president of the Chambre of Industry and Commerce of Romania, a noted and recognizable person in the domestic business sphere. Mr. Gogulsecu has been appointed as an Honorary Consul in 2008 and since then had made significant work, putting in effort all of the professional capacities of the Prahova Chambre of Industry and Commerce into effect of improving the visibility of the Macedonian business potential on the Romanian market. |
